Hi there!
My name is Raj Lalwani, and I am a Silicon Valley entrepreneur. This is my little corner on the web.
Psst! In Science We Trust Volume 1 is now shipping.
I am a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur who accidentally got two master’s degrees in Computer Science—one from IIT, Delhi and another from the Penn State University—and have been building cool stuff ever since.
I helped invent birthday reminders on Facebook (yes, those ones) with my startup Social Calendar, which grew to millions of users, partnered with Hallmark, and was acquired by Walmart.
These days, I’m the founder of Tinyview—a platform for bite-sized comics, served daily—and the creator of In Science We Trust, a comic series that turns brilliant scientists into page-turning heroes.
In the news.
These Science Comics Were Made To Be Read On Smartphone Screens
“Both stories illustrate how scientists’ personal lives are not unrelated to the work they do — and both stories are literally illustrated in In Science We Trust, a collection of short comics published through a new app Tinyview. Besides the stories of Tesla and Anning, In Science We Trust includes comics about Alan Turing, Ada Lovelace and Archimedes.”
Walmart Buys Facebook’s Birthday And Holiday Reminder App Social Calendar
“It looks like retail giant Walmart has made another acquisition. The e-commerce giant has bought Social Calendar, an app on Facebook that allows you to get birthday and holiday reminders by email and SMS, and to post personalized photo cards and other virtual greetings on friends’ Facebook Walls on their birthdays.”
Hallmark Expands Presence On Facebook With SocialCalendar Partnership
“Facebook application SocialCalendar is currently the go-to calendar for users to manage their social lives on the network with over 13 million total installs and about 2 million monthly active users. Greetings card empire Hallmark is hoping to ride on SocialCalendar’s coattails with the relaunch of the app as Hallmark SocialCalendar.”
